Self discovery

Many Apple users will be aware of the new Apple music option on their devices. I didn’t think I’d use my three month trial, but, I have and I am very glad.

Not only does this app allow us to see music suggestions, but it also gives us tons of genres to choose from. It enables us to access a ginormous playlist (Or radio as they call it) for each genre. I realised something about me.

There is a very large number of singer/songwriter artists out there who I must explore, and who are not my usual 5 or 6 options. There are also a lot more genres than I knew existed. I now know that I am a huge country music fan, especially modern country. Bollywood is enchanting, and despite being 17, the Oldies station is for me. While I type this, I’m listening to a rather relaxed singer/Songwriter song from the playlist and wishing that I not only have money for my life supply of books, but for music now too.

RIP

I’d just like to say rest in peace to those who lost their lives in Tunisia, who we commemorated with a silence today.
We will never forget these people. I would like to hope that this will not be repeated. Sadly, I lack faith in many who throw away people’s lives without a care.
Rest in peace. Let us remember them.

My callendar for this month is coming close

Just a short post discussing my events this July.
Tomorrow: Seeing a friend. Not easy when your friends aren’t local and you can’t travel alone.
10 to 11 July: New student conference at RNC, where I’ll learn the ropes a little, and see what the college is like again.
5 July: Sight villiage exhibition Birmingham, Packed with all kinds of organisations supporting the blind, to learn all kinds of information.
18 July: Post 16 celebration dy with Moorvision charity, celebrating moving on to the next step.
26 July to 5 August: ICC, International Cams of Computers and Communications, my trip abroad to Zeist, Holland where I’ll embark on new adventures.

Two good things, despite my nerves

Despite the fact that tomorrow is my second exam, two good things have come about today.

The first is that my parents have said I can for out to lunch with my friends before my 18th birthday. Some people would say thats not a big deal. When you’re blind and struggle to have a social life because of the distance your friends live from you, it is. I am currently in the process of organising the event.

Another good thing is that I have invited my pamily round to celebrate the end of my exams, in a couple of weeks. I’m excited to see them, and celebrate the end of a tough time.

It is nice to think that some good things are right around the corner.

That other goal of mine

I am an extremely avid reader. For anyone who knows me, they’ll know that I tend to read an awful lot. Books are the thing that make me tick, I don’t think I could live without them.

Goodreads is a Very famous site. (www.goodreads.com) I go on it every day, seeking suggestions and reading reviews.

I have joined the Goodreads Reading Chal;enge for 2015, in January, where you set a goal of how many books you want to read in a year. I’m aiming for 100!! I hope I can do it.

This summer I will spend glorious hours reading, and trying to get this goal from a dream to an accomplishment.

A pair of little goals for the summer

Next year, at the Royal National College for the Blind, Hereford, I will be studying French, Performing Arts, and a high Braille course which gets me one step closer to teaching it.

Although I already do both, I’m going to really try and practice French widely this summer. I will also try and recite plays and texts for performing arts, and test my voice to pinpoint my capabilities.

Summer is a time for freedom, taking a breather before a new year starts, and spending time with people you want to enjoy it with. Its also a time for goals however, and for going down paths that you choose to pick.
